At Conroy Removals, we’re lucky to have a few “Conroy Couples” on our team — husband-and-wife duos who bring double the dedication and energy to the job. Some met through Conroy, while others joined after their partner, creating a shared career journey. Working side by side, these couples embody the teamwork and commitment that keep our business moving.
One such duo is Ryan and Sandra, part of our Sydney branch.
Ryan first joined Conroy in 2016, working as a Driver for a contractor. Two years later, he and Sandra started their own company, contracting back to Conroy with a crew of 12. In 2022, Ryan took the opportunity to grow further, stepping into the role of Operations Manager for Sydney, a position he still holds today.
Sandra came on board in 2018, beginning as a Packer before moving into the warehouse, then administration, and now thriving as Scheduler for Sydney. Together, the Days have built not only careers but also a partnership that thrives inside and outside of work.
Ryan’s journey in removals actually began even earlier — back in 2010 — when his older brother introduced him to the industry. He recalls one particularly memorable move involving a life-sized fake zebra that had to be carried out of a client’s bedroom and loaded onto a truck for an interstate job!
For Sandra, the highlight is the day-to-day teamwork.
“Ryan dragged me into helping out during a busy season and I’ve stayed ever since. The love, the laughter and the donuts keep us going,” she says.
The pair say their success comes from always working together, supporting each other, and never forgetting to laugh along the way.

Do you have any pets (and who spoils them most)?
- Ryan: Yes, I’ll take all the cuddles from our little dog.
- Sandra: We have a dog called Prince and a turtle called Oogway. Ryan definitely spoils Prince!
If you could invite three people, dead or alive, to a dinner party, who would you choose?
- Ryan: Denzel Washington, Kevin Hart, Jackie Chan
- Sandra: Martin Luther King, Julia Roberts, Gordon Ramsay
If you could travel anywhere together, where would it be?
- Ryan: Anywhere with good food, hot sun, and a beach.
- Sandra: Same — food, sun, and a beach.
What do you both enjoy doing in your spare time?
- Ryan: Camping, eating, and relaxing
- Sandra: Cooking, eating, and relaxing
Best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
- Ryan: “If they’ve angered you, you’ve already lost.” – from my father.
- Sandra: “Always stay true to yourself.”
Something your workmates might not know about you?
- Ryan: I still play and coach Division 1 basketball.
- Sandra: I love having a bonfire whenever I can.
